By using Brown & Black Social Club on Substack (the “Service”), you consent to the practices below and to Substack Inc.’s own Privacy Policy. If you disagree, please do not use the Service.

Usage data – what you read and how you interact: which posts you open, how long you linger, the links you click, and any on-site searches. Collected via Substack analytics and our first-party cookies.
Inferred data – insights we derive, such as topics you seem to enjoy or the time of day you prefer to receive emails. Generated by our internal analytics tools.nformation” (e.g., race, health data) unless you voluntarily disclose it in comments.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

• Deliver newsletters, podcasts, and notifications you subscribed to

• Moderate comments and enforce our Terms of Service

4. SHARING & DISCLOSURE

Service providers: Substack (hosting, email delivery, analytics), payment processors (Stripe, Apple Pay, Google Pay), cloud-storage & security vendors—all bound by contract to protect your data.
Legal or safety reasons: Government authorities or courts when required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
Business transfers: If BBSC is ever acquired, data will transfer under the same privacy commitments.
We never share, sell, or “sell” (as defined by the CPRA) your data to third parties for their own marketing.

5. COOKIES & TRACKING

The Service uses first-party cookies and similar technologies to:
• keep you logged in,
• remember preferences, and
• measure readership (Substack analytics; optional Google Analytics).
You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings; essential cookies are required for core functions like login.

6. YOUR CHOICES

Email preferences: Every message contains an “Unsubscribe” link.
Comment deletion: Delete your own comments or email us.
Analytics opt-out: Install browser-level blockers (e.g., uBlock, GA opt-out).

7. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

EU/UK (GDPR/DSA) — You may request: access, correction, deletion (“right to be forgotten”), data portability, restriction or objection to processing, and a statement of any automated decision-making. We respond within 30 days.
California (CPRA) — You have rights to know, correct, delete, and opt out of “selling” or “sharing” personal information (we do neither). You may also limit use of sensitive personal info (we do not collect it).

8. DATA RETENTION

We keep account data while your subscription is active and for up to five years after cancellation (for tax, audit, and anti-fraud reasons), unless a longer retention period is required by law or permitted for our legitimate interests. Anonymized or aggregated data may be retained indefinitely.

9. DATA SECURITY

10. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

Your data is stored on servers in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you consent to transferring your information to the U.S., which may have different data-protection laws than your jurisdiction. 11. CHILDREN

The Service is not directed to children under 16. If we learn we have collected personal data from a child without parental consent, we will delete it promptly.
